(Dublin, Ohio) — The City of Dublin is adding a new tradition to its lineup of community events. City Council approved an agreement to advance Christkindlmarkt Dublin, Ohio — a European-style holiday market at Riverside Crossing Park, anticipated to debut in 2026.
The idea for a Dublin holiday market first took shape in 2022, and as interest grew, the City undertook significant research into the concept, including visits to similar events. One of which was Carmel, Indiana’s Christkindlmarkt, a German-inspired holiday market that has occurred annually since 2017. These visits inspired Dublin officials to envision a unique Dublin approach to the festive European experience.
In March 2025, Dublin City Council approved the Holiday Market Feasibility Study Final Report. Following that approval, the City issued a Request for Proposals in April 2025 to identify an experienced operator to bring the market to life.
After a competitive selection process, Christkindlmarkt Consulting LLC was selected to lead the effort. The firm is led by Maria Adele Rosenfeld, CEO of Christkindlmarkt Consulting and former CEO of Carmel Christkindlmarkt Inc., which has been ranked the top holiday market in the U.S. by USA TODAY readers.
“With the expertise of Christkindlmarkt Consulting, we’re excited to introduce a festive and authentic holiday experience that reflects Dublin’s innovative and engaged spirit,” said City Manager Megan O’Callaghan. “Not only will this market offer an economic boost, but it will strengthen community pride and create memories for residents and visitors alike.”
Christkindlmarkt Dublin is expected to open next year and take place from the Saturday before Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve. The tentative hours of operation will be Wednesday and Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. Special holiday hours will be shared closer to the event.
“We are beyond excited to bring Christkindlmarkt Dublin, Ohio to life here in the city of Dublin,” said Maria Adele Rosenfeld, CEO of Christkindlmarkt Consulting, LLC. “Dublin’s recognition as a World Festival & Event City makes it a natural fit for this event. Its residents consistently rally behind meaningful community traditions, and I look forward to welcoming everyone to Christkindlmarkt Dublin, Ohio.”
The addition of Christkindlmarkt Dublin will complement the City’s growing lineup of world-recognized events, including the Dublin Irish Festival and the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, further enhancing Dublin’s reputation as a destination for year-round experiences.
